Leslie Wiens is a Canadian author, having started his writing career just prior to becoming a septuagenarian. He spent ten years in the computer industry, owned art galleries for over a decade (split into two 5-year ventures), and had various short term jobs such as retail blue-jean store manager, travelling wholesale spice sales rep, and window washer. He then spent thirty years in the financial world as a financial planner. Having taken Creative Writing at the University of Winnipeg, he started writing in the early 1990’s, but shelved the activity while managing his financial planning business.
In his writing, he taps into his various experiences in all of his previous endeavors, including from various charities he has been involved with. He heavily draws from his financial planning career, where he constantly received news of financial mis-dealings, particularly involving the elderly. Financial elder-abuse has become an ongoing concern that he is trying to help to address.
Leslie lives in Canada, spending most of his time in either North Ontario, Manitoba, or B.C. – each of which he calls home. He is married, has two married children, and four grandchildren.
His first published work is available digitally, through online bookstores, or can be ordered in almost every bookstore in the English speaking world.
